I Hate Politics!

But God loves politicians and I'm trying. This post is not fiction: should it be to be included with EarthMover? Where do I stand politically? Wight Wing Wackos-see my comment on Laura's blog dated today for an explanation.

Ok...so we ALL have opinions and they're all like belly buttons: they all look weird but mine. So forgive me if I offend; I guess that I'm an "outty". Politically speaking, I'm a conservative. Actually, I want as little government as possible. I believe in free enterprise and I believe in personal liberty. Please let me explain.
According to the Constitution, government is supposed to build roads, keep the peace and stay out of the way of peaceful citizens earning a living. Everthing else it(government) gets involved in it screws up. Entitlements are not something you are entitled to. If people would get right with the Lord and be stewards of their finances by supporting the local churches through tithes and offerings and take care of their families like the Bible says, there would be NO need for entitlements. Ok there are a few exceptions, but the church could handle those.
Oversimplified? For all you computer geeks out there, the internet, compared to society, is government lean. Very lean. There will be a civil war if and when the government decides to REALLY get in on the internet. It took the US 75 years to get this Socialistic and I figure when we get on the right road, it may take that long or longer to get back to what our Founding Fathers ideal was; that we be self sufficient, honest, law-abiding, peace loving Christians, or in the least, that we leave private enterprise and personal liberties alone. Free market Capitalism.
As I see the US post-911, personal liberties have taken a beating. What's the answer? I'm not sure, but swift response to any threat on any liberty is probably NOT a mistake. I can hear Russell Crowe, giving the the order in Gladiator, to "unleash hell." Instead of using diplomancy to settle violence, we should make the consequences so severe that those terrorists would think twice before attacking.
As an idealist, I think we should have the right to go and do as we please, if we uphold the law, anywhere and our safety is assured. Ok I'm an idealist. That is a goal to shoot for. No pun intended.
I really and truly believe that what the US has become is a farce to any Continental Soldier and that they turn over in their graves at the thought of what we have let the Greatest Nation on Earth become. I don't see a great mass of people rushing to any other country in the world except America. Socialism failed in Russia and in no other nation is economic growth sustained but here. China is trying to learn from the USSR's example. We have some ups and downs but the trend for the last 200 something years has been up. I'm not asking you to join me. I'm just saying who I am and what I believe in. I'm proud to be an American, I think we need to rethink our position on government interference in private enterprise and private lives.
