Alternative tuning on Guitar

Sometimes I start out my day worshiping God by finding a Bible verse(this morning it was Ephesians 1:2-9) on my computer; usually a verse They have spoken to me and then I "make up" a song to it. Some days it's very annointed and other days it's not as annointed. I asked God to give me some new ideas about guitar chords and music and I "felt led" or heard in my spirit. Try an alternative tuning DADGAD. My wife had found a note someone had written me about alternative tunings and DADGAD was one of them so I tuned my guitar to this tuning. It was almost too easy. HA! Isn't that the way They do it. Very different sound and fun, too.

I found an easy way to play the "Charley Brown Theme".

Art in Motion.....

This morning on the drive into work, I was listening to Bach on XM and watching the little bits of snow swirling in mini tornados in the road.
I could drive all day in this atmosphere, or until I needed a nap after lunch. Thanks, God for warm safe cars with music and relatively safe roads!!

On bearing His cross

I cannot bear the Cross of Christ. Only He could be the perfect sacrifice necessary to atone for the sins of mankind. Jesus actually did not carry His own cross; it was forced upon Simon of Cyrene to carry for Him. As believers, we were in Him as this happened and died with Him, were buried in Him, resurrected in Him, are now seated in Him and are joint heirs with Him.

When the Bible speaks of me bearing my cross, it is speaking of my willingness to put myself in the position to be obedient to what a Jewish person of that day would view as unthinkable; hung in a tree, exposed, and bearing the curse. That was utter humiliation. It is speaking of my willingness to trust in Jesus as Saviour at all costs; to give up my selfish desires to desire only Him.

It is also speaking of fulfilling my responsibilities when I became a believer. To help take care of parents and siblings if needed. If married, to support my family. To love my wife as Christ loved the church. To raise my children with all the love and wisdom that God has placed in me. I am to treat my employees with all the respect I would treat our Saviour and to work for my employer as I would serve my Saviour. It is to do the right thing, and if I do not know what that is, then I am to seek counsel and pray and walk in faith until I do. In short, I am to play the hand of cards I was dealt with all joy, knowing that They will never leave or forsake me. Knowing also that these acts do not save me, but are my manifestation of Christ in me the hope of glory.

I choose this life. I choose to die in Christ 2000 years ago. I choose to have alreadied suffered in Him. I choose Joy unspeakable here on earth and in my existence afterwards. I choose to be in Him!

Grace Haiku

Grace God's gift to us
It costs us nothing more than
ripping the paper

God's son sent for us
The cruel cross of Christ's death
we were there in Him

A few more Bible verses I've never heard preached Part 2

Romans 2:1 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. NKJV

OMG!! Paul seems to think that if we judge someone, it is because we do the same things that we are judging them for.....hmmm.......

BIG SIS INVADES WAL-MART: 'IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING'

WASHINGTON -- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today announced the expansion of the Department’s national “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign to hundreds of Walmart stores across the country—launching a new partnership between DHS and Walmart to help the American public play an active role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation.

“Homeland security starts with hometown security, and each of us plays a critical role in keeping our country and communities safe,” said Secretary Napolitano. “I applaud Walmart for joining the ‘If You See Something, Say Something’ campaign. This partnership will help millions of shoppers across the nation identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to law enforcement authorities.”

The “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign—originally implemented by New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority and funded, in part, by $13 million from DHS’ Transit Security Grant Program—is a simple and effective program to engage the public and key frontline employees to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities.

More than 230 Walmart stores nationwide launched the “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign today, with a total of 588 Walmart stores in 27 states joining in the coming weeks. A short video message, available here, will play at select checkout locations to remind shoppers to contact local law enforcement to report suspicious activity.

Over the past five months, DHS has worked with its federal, state, local and private sector partners, as well as the Department of Justice, to expand the “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign and Nationwide SAR Initiative to communities throughout the country—including the recent state-wide expansions of the “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign across Minnesota and New Jersey. Partners include the Mall of America, the American Hotel & Lodging Association, Amtrak, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, sports and general aviation industries, and state and local fusion centers across the country.

In the coming months, the Department will continue to expand the “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign nationally with public education materials and outreach tools designed to help America’s businesses, communities and citizens remain vigilant and play an active role in keeping the county safe.

My comment:
Very BigBro/Sis 1984ish attack on civil liberties.
I must go to my favorite Walmart and see if this is true,
but I'm afraid I'll be seen......

A few Bible verses I've never heard preached Part 1

1. Matt. 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Wonder what Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard or John Carpenter would do for this shot??

Were they new creations or night of the living dead?
Did they remain alive until they died again or taken up like Jesus or Elijah. What did their families say?? How many family members wound(pun intended)up at Jerusalem Memorial Horspital that day with head injuries from fainting and striking the ground or wounds caused from leaping out of windows?
What sort of conversations took place??
I hope that I think to ask the proper Authorities about this some day.....
